[Morning after the rave - Nina]

As a general rule, Lily didn't regret things.

Waking up beside Nina, though, she realized she wasn't sure the other woman would view what had happened the previous night the same way. Of course, part of what she liked so much about Nina was that she was never entirely sure how she might react to anything. Every so often she would manage to surprise Lily completely and she liked that. It was part of why they were waking up in the same bed in the first place.

The sun was already pouring through the slated windows and Lily rose from the bed, reaching over to open them entirely, letting the light into the room. She was a little dehydrated and there was a dull pressure in her temples, but given what she'd taken the night before, she felt better than expected. Still, a couple advil would have been welcome at that moment.

Pouring herself some water, she turned back to the bed, watching Nina. In New York, she hadn't thought much about what Nina had thought had gone on between them. As far as she was concerned, it had only been a dream, but now she was wondering. Was this something Nina had wanted all along?

In the end, she figured it didn't matter. It had happened now, not then, not earlier, and Lily didn't care to spend much time looking back.

"I remember enough," she said, her cheeks flushing, but she managed not to look away, her lips curling into an answering smile, though hers was far less smug.

"I thought I'd dreamed it," she admitted, then, with a roll of her eyes, she added, "Again."

"Where did all those drugs even come from?" Nina laughed, and she still could hardly believe she'd taken things without even knowing what they were or what they would really do to her.

She couldn't believe that she'd lost herself so completely.

"I guess they must know that they're doing," she said with a breath of laughter, though she wouldn't know the difference between ecstasy that had been made well, and some that hadn't. They hadn't ended up dead, and she could only assume it had worked the way it was supposed to.

Though, it was far from the first time she'd found herself under the influence.
