As a general rule, Lily didn't regret things.

Waking up beside Nina, though, she realized she wasn't sure the other woman would view what had happened the previous night the same way. Of course, part of what she liked so much about Nina was that she was never entirely sure how she might react to anything. Every so often she would manage to surprise Lily completely and she liked that. It was part of why they were waking up in the same bed in the first place.

The sun was already pouring through the slated windows and Lily rose from the bed, reaching over to open them entirely, letting the light into the room. She was a little dehydrated and there was a dull pressure in her temples, but given what she'd taken the night before, she felt better than expected. Still, a couple advil would have been welcome at that moment.

Pouring herself some water, she turned back to the bed, watching Nina. In New York, she hadn't thought much about what Nina had thought had gone on between them. As far as she was concerned, it had only been a dream, but now she was wondering. Was this something Nina had wanted all along?

In the end, she figured it didn't matter. It had happened now, not then, not earlier, and Lily didn't care to spend much time looking back.
